Matea Valley High School (Illinois) has an opening available immediately for a color guard instructor/coach. The position would start Aug 10 and continue through October 25. The program has a unique practice schedule that does not include any evenings. Mon, Tues, Thurs, from 2:45-5:15. There are a few Friday practices through the season as well (same time), but not every week. Currently, the program teaches the choreography/flag work via video. This unit is a non-competitive band that works to present a competitive style show with a fun theme. This year, the show is Tribute to Queen. The drill is minimal, and this position requires someone with a vision for the color guard long term. There are currently 31 members signed up for guard, and they have already met for 3 days back in June. Pay will be determined upon experience. There is possibility of winter workshops if the candidate interested and available. Please contact Glen Schneider if you are interested in the position at 630-375-4316 or .
